Research Logs in FamilySearch
- Record the log in the notes section of each individual.
- Use one note for each event (birth, christening, marriage, residence, death, burial)
- In the title use the format: Research Log for his/her (event)
- Use the following format in the note for each search
- Years searched;
- Place searched;
- Describe the document searched (type, location, call number, website) ;
- Record the results
Research Logs in Ancestry
- Record the log in the comments section of each individual.
- Use one comment for each event (birth, christening, marriage, residence, death, burial)
- Record the event at the top of the comment
- Use the following format in the comment below the event for each search
- Years searched;
- Place searched;
- Describe the document searched (type, location, call number, website);
- Record the results
