My Testimony of him.

Is it true? Did two glorious beings visit him as he said? My great grandfather heard this story 136 years ago and he believed it. Because of that story he moved his family from Denmark to the land of Utah so they could live where the gospel was taught, under the influence of the Church. Because of that story my grandfather filled two, 3-year proselytizing missions in Denmark and Germany. My father believed the story and lived all of his life trying to keep the commandments of God. He told me the story when I was young and the influence of the gospel has guided my life toward truth and the really worthwhile things of life. All the teachings brought about because Joseph Smith saw a vision of God the Father and His Son, Jesus Christ are for the benefit of those who apply them. It has brought happiness, goodness, health, and prosperity to those people who I have observed that have lived these principles of truth.

There is a great contrast in the lives of people who live the commandments of God and those who violate them. I have seen the effects on both sides. On the one side good and noble men and women result, on the other hand sorrow and degradation, wasted lives in sin. Do I believe the story is true? As we look at the fruits thereof, what do you think? Yes, I know the story is true. Not only because of the results but because the spirit of the Holy Ghost that has made my soul to thrill with a testimony of it. Yes it is true. I know it is true and those who have the good sense to accept the gospel and apply it in their lives have discovered something far more valuable than riches.

The gospel not only blesses our lives while on this earth, but it holds out a promise for wondrous immortal life if we prepare ourselves here. If we pass the test of our mortality.
